Art Ecology
collaboration between
MIKLOS LEGRADY & IAIN BAXTER&

This collaboration between IAIN BAXTER& & MIKLOS LEGRADY is similar to Rauschenberg‘s “Erased DeKooning Drawing", but instead of erasure there's additions, an origami of images and ideas. The artists risk their independence. their autonomy, and creative control. Once you think about it, this project is like three-dimensional chess. We looked at art's ecology; the trends and style, truths and assumptions. Still, we’re walking on thin ice. To which the &MAN added "Just like the whole wide worldis on thin ice with GWN { Global Warming Now }."

The political course of this work is informed by LBGTQ positivity and cultural diversity. These large cardboard paintings speak of artists navigating a cultural system and how they address institutional mindsets, authoritarian networks, flawed philosophies, and power imbalances. These paintings not only let us see the art world differently, they call our attention to how we feel about it. To which the &MAN added"& how all of us in the whole wide world today must now change our ways & apply constant
ECO-EMPATHY* from each of us, so we can all together save our Mother Earth".

*
ECO-EMPATHY, a word coined by the &MAN.

Rob Storr said that he doesn't think the American version of French theory
or a Frankfurt school in contemporary art criticism is of much use to anybody.
