A Conceptual Ecology of Art
Miklos Legrady in conversation with Iain Baxter&

Miklos Legrady paintings in conversations with Iain Baxter&,C.C.

Here you will find questions and reflections on the nature of art. The long awaited ‘death of painting’ is an unrealistic expectation. Science tells us that painting cannot die anymore than literature; both offer different kinds of notations in use since the dawn of recorded time. In this work the visual language matters as much as the concept.

This conversation, between artists Miklos Legrady and  Iain Baxter& C.C, is similar to Rauschenberg‘s “Erased DeKooning Drawing", but instead of erasure there's additions, an origami of images and ideas. Here, Legrady's paintings included conversations between the two artists. We started on art and politics, end up with the ecology of art. Still, we’re all walking on thin ice. To which the andMAN added "just like the whole wide world is on thin ice with Global Warming now"

The political course of this work is informed by 2SLBGTQ and BIPOC positivity. Here we explore what images say. To which Iain Baxter& added "and how all of us in the whole wide world today must now change our ways and apply constant ECO-EMPATHY* from each of us, so we can all together save our Mother Earth".   *ECO-EMPATHY, a word coined by the andMAN, and the andMAN also created in 2010a special eco-artwork entitled 10 ECOmmandments.
