Plato's Cave Metaphor
Plato’s cave metaphor said that we understand so little of the world around us, we might as well be looking at our shadow on a cave wall and believe that is the entire world, whereas outside there’s a verdant landscape lit byy a warm sun. Jeff Koons appropriated the childlike joy of balloon dogs and ruined it for all in the art world, but it doesn’t have to be like that. It is true that art moved from the Cedar Tavern to the Seminar Room; in response this work moves balloon dogs bvack to the Cedar Tavern.
